Can Albex Bleach help prevent the spread of COVID-19?
Cleaning dirty surfaces followed by disinfection is a best practice measure for prevention of COVID-19 in household and community settings, as stated by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) gives the following recommendation on how to clean and disinfect surfaces:
Wear disposable gloves when cleaning and disinfecting surfaces. Clean hands immediately after gloves are removed.
If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using a detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.
For disinfection, diluted household bleach solutions should be effective.
Diluted household bleach solutions can be used if appropriate for the surface. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application and proper ventilation. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.
Prepare a bleach solution by mixing:
Clean surface with the bleach solution, leave the solution on the surface for at least 30 seconds.
Rinse disinfected articles with water and wipe dry.
Cleaning tools should be soaked in diluted bleach for 30 minutes and then rinsed thoroughly before reuse.
Finally, wash hands with liquid soap, then dry hands with a clean towel or disposable towel.
Albex Bleach, Albex Multipurpose Thick Bleach and Albex Bleach Foamer can all be used to kill 99.9% of known germs. Always follow direction for use found on the bottle before making use of any cleaning products.
